Elaine has always enjoyed taking photographs, first with polaroids, then with film and now with her digital camera. After a career working as an art director for the Chicago Tribune and other publications, Elaine decided to follow her passion for telling stories through pictures and Elaine Melko Photography was born. Elaine lives in a Chicago bungalow with her three kids, a dog and cat. Some clients she had the pleasure to work with have been the Chicago Tribune, Crate and Barrel, McGarry Bowen Agency, American Express, and Olive Garden.

For locations within 60 miles of the Chicagoland area, a travel fee of $50 applies. In Chicago, parking fees are extra for corporate and event photography. I'm also open to traveling out of state. Contact me for details.

Planning for a newborn photo session should ideally begin well before your little one arrives. Contact me at least three months prior to your due date to secure a slot.
Our lifestyle newborn sessions are unique in that they not only capture your new baby but also the family dynamic. This means including siblings, parents, and yes, even pets! These sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, where everyone is most at ease.
During the session, we'll focus on candid interactions between each family member and the newborn, as well as group family shots. In addition, there will be time dedicated to photographing the baby alone in natural and simple poses.
These sessions are typically scheduled on weekdays and should take place within the first 7-10 days after your baby is born. Plan to set aside at least 90 minutes for a complete lifestyle newborn session.
